The Interests Assessment is developed by O*NET and Reveals your Personality Type. You can take this assessment by clicking on Discover Careers then Get to know yourself.
Your responses reveal your biggest interests, based on six interest areas. Together these make up your overall personality.
The assessment is based on the Holland Codes which summarizes the strengths of 6 personality types: realistic, investigative, artistic, social, enterprising, conventional.
Students should read each question and think if the activity described is something that they like to do or would like to do. It doesn't matter if they have never done that activity before or if they have the skills needed to complete it. It's meant to be a reaction to the type of activity.
Students rate each activity on a scale from Hate it to Love it and they always have the option of Not sure.
After completing the Interests Assessment, students are shown their top three interest areas and some careers that match up with them. The numbers presented for each area are the total number of responses they provided for each area.
